Carbonate hardness, dissolved oxygen and low pH-values in the drinking water lead to limescale deposits and corrosion in the boiler. This results in reduced output and can cause considerable damage to the heating system. The costs of correct boiler treatment bear no relation to those that are then incurred. Apart from the treatment of fresh water with technical equipment, conditioning the boiler feedwater plays the decisive role. These are used for alkalinisation (increasing the pH-value), oxygen binding and precipitation of residual hardness. In small hot water heating systems special inhibitors are also used, which prevent the corrosion attack in another way, e.g. by forming a protective film on the metallic surfaces.
Limescale deposits, corrosion, infections with germs and algae repeatedly cause considerable damage to machines, cooling and air conditioning systems or lead to unhygienic operating conditions. To prevent this damage, apart from treatment of the feedwater with technical equipment (e.g. softening or demineralisation), often indispensable for economic reasons, and system bleeding with automatic bleeders, JUDO offers various conditioning agents with specially matched effective components. The aim is mostly to stabilise residual hardness, inhibit corrosion and dispersion in the circulating water. Regular disinfection with biocides is frequently also required in open cooling systems.
The waterworks supplies hygienically pure drinking water however, on
the way from the waterworks, incrustations become dissolved and get
into the water pipe. It is also unavoidable that a certain level of
contamination occurs to drinking water as a result of work on the
public pipeline system. The results are well-known – brown, rusty
water, problems with shut-off and control fittings, dripping taps ...
By far the highest proportion of fresh, drinking water used in the
modern household is used for washing, baths and showers, water for
dishwashers and washing machines and for various cleaning tasks...
To be able to enjoy fresh, sparkling spring water is a very attractive
idea. The drinking water that comes out of our taps complies with all
the legal requirements, but due to its transport through extensive and
sometimes old pipework systems, it has lost many of its original
properties...
